It’s not that I don’t see the need for us to clean up our homes. I just see it as a way of self-serving to help us become more self-aware. If we don’t change the way we live, I think we won’t have much of a chance at improving ourselves.

We like to call this “being aware” but what makes us actually become aware is not the act of changing our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. What makes us actually become aware is to start consciously changing them. And if we start changing our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions, we’ll have a chance at changing ourselves.
By changing our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions we can change our lives. Of course, changing the way we think and feel is a whole different kettle of fish. We can’t change how we feel or think if we can’t feel or think. But we can change how we act.
How you act, how you think, and how you act is a whole different kettle of fish. Act like you’re in control. Think like you’re in control. Act like you’re not in control. Think that you’re not in control. If you are in control, then you have the power to stop acting like you’re in control.
This is a good example of the difference between thinking and feeling. Thinking is an automatic response, no matter what the circumstances. Feeling is a conscious choice and action. We can think and feel differently depending on how we interact with the world around us. We can think and feel differently depending on the people we associate with, and the places we frequent. We can think and feel differently depending on our own values and beliefs.
This one makes a lot more sense than most of the other examples. We humans are often told to “act like youre in control.” It sounds like a great way to get over acting out of control and putting ourselves in harmful situations. But “act like youre in control” doesn’t really mean anything because we all try to act like we ARE in control.
